Since we discovered beeswax wraps, we have learnt a few unexpected things from them. One day, after forgetting I left half an avocado in the fridge for 5 days and seeing how fresh it still was, we have realised that using them as a reusable food wrap is only one small use. Their ability to keep food fresher for longer because they can still breathe is something we're going to be putting to the test in series of time lapse photos. We're just not quite sure how fabulous they are yet, but we'll know soon enough.

This is a Shepherd Avocado after 5 days, and while we know they don't brown as quickly as a Haas will, they certainly don't look this fresh after 5 days in cling film or aluminium foil. While lots of food can literally be wrapped in a beeswax wrap, there's plenty of food that works better in a pocket. While we have taken a series of photos showing how they look finished, there's nothing quite like a video to show you how.

We designed our Crisper Sets to have only the larger size wraps so you can easily make pockets out them all and store your vegies in the fridge.

One of the benefits of using a beeswax wrap is that they are waterproof. You don't need a lunch box to protect a sandwich from an ice pack in an insulated lunch bag. You can wrap your sandwich up in a beeswax wrap, pop an ice pack in and you won't have a soggy sandwich. You can even pop in a small kids drink bottle those we sell from Camelbak, have it super chilled or filled with ice, pop it in the same bag and it still won't make your sandwich soggy.

We have also been fielding quite a few questions about whether the reusable shopping bags from Onya that you put your fruit & veg will keep produce fresher for longer. We think not, but we're going to put them to the test regardless.
