Are reusable smoothie cups going to be the new reusable coffee cups of 2019? We think so. This week we launched a dedicated category for smoothie cups in our store and the first brand we have added is from Cheeki, who started their life making stainless steel water bottles back in 2009 when our business started. In fact, they were the first water bottle we had in our range. Fast forward almost a decade and they now make stainless steel lunch boxes, stainless steel straws and have completely revamped their range with one of the most innovative sports lids for their drink bottles on the market.

Cheeki Insulated Tumblers

The Cheeki insulated smoothie tumblers are the perfect choice to hand over at Boost Juice or any smoothie or juice bar. The main pre-requisite for them is that it be large enough and that the opening is wide like a cup and not narrow like a water bottle. The cup is 500ml in capacity and measures 17cm in height with a diameter of 6.5cm at the base and widening up to 9cm diameter at the top. This makes it the perfect choice. It is virtually an insulated stainless steel version of the disposable cups they have in store.

The lid is stainless steel on the outside and bpa free plastic on the underside. Like most reusable coffee cups, the lid is not leakproof, so there will be no plastic actually touching your smoothie. The straw is made from stainless steel and is inserted in to the lid from the underside. A small ridge close to the bottom of the straw means you can't accidentally pull it out and lose it while the lid is firmly in place.

The tumbler can also be a great substitute for an insulated water bottle with 2 exceptions.

  1. It's not leakproof so you have to pour and drink on the run / keep it up right on your desk at work
  2. Not suitable for hot liquid as the stainless steel straw will burn your lips as the drink comes up. If you want to replace the stainless steel straw for a glass one or a silicone tip one, technically you could, but we would not advise it.
