Natural Toothpaste & Fluoride Free Toothpaste for the whole family
All our natural toothpaste options in store are free from known irritants found in commercial toothpaste. We are free from SLS, triclosan and microbeads which are bad for our waterways as well as your body. Fluoride free toothpaste forms the bulk of our range, but we do have fluoride options which are clearly marked in their product name.
What ingredients are used to formulate natural toothpaste?
Natural toothpaste is formulated using ingredients like xylitol which is known for inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria. For those with sensitive teeth and gums, Grants of Australia have the first formulated natural toothpaste to be listed with the TGA and it uses potassium nitrate which is known to relieve sensitivities. Tea tree oil is used to help reduce the amount of bacteria in the mouth and assist with reducing inflammation caused by gingivitis. Baking Soda in toothpaste helps to naturally whiten and remove stains. Gem is the first brand in store to use an oral probiotic to help promote the growth of good bacteria in the mouth and hydroxyapatite to remineralise your teeth.
Fluoride vs Fluoride Free Toothpaste - you choose
It is well recognised by mainstream dentists that fluoride is a known gut irritant for young children (and they do swallow a fair bit of toothpaste), so keeping it out of kids toothpaste is common, but the industry has started providing options for both kids and adults toothpaste.
While we know the fluoride vs fluoride-free is a divisive topic, we have spoken in depth with more than one functional and mainstream dentist and are confident these fluoride free products are the right way to go for many, however several natural dental brands are recognising that some customers want fluoride or low fluoride in a natural based product, so we offer both solutions. Anything containing fluoride is clearly marked. We urge you to do your own research and decide whether these products are right for you.
