In the war on waste, people started to turn away from bottled shampoo in plastic bottles and instead, turned to the solid shampoo bar. The humble shampoo bar has been around for over a decade, but it’s really just the last 3 to 4 years where their performance has made them a strong contender to replace a natural liquid shampoo.
Salon quality, naturopath formulated premium bars right down to family friendly 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner bars that can replace anywhere between 2 and 6 bottles of shampoo await you. Going plastic free in the bathroom has never been easier than now.
Are all shampoo bars formulated the same?
No. Apart from the obvious differences between brands, there are shampoo bars that are formulated more like soap and shampoo bars that are formulated more like shampoo. Beauty and the Bees were the first brand to make shampoo bars and they call their original formulas the 'traditionals' and they're best followed with an apple cider vinegar rinse. They're popular, they clean your hair without harsh chemicals and many customers love them, but Beauty and the Bees also saw the market changing to pH balanced formulas and released a new range alongside the traditionals. They use local hero ingredients in both formulas to ensure you get healthy hair on any budget.
Do you have shampoo bars for curly hair types?

Do shampoo bars form a lather when you wash your hair?
Yes. You can lather the shampoo bars two ways. Firstly, like a cake of soap in your hand, and then transfer the bubbles to your hair from your hands. Secondly, rub the shampoo bar on your scalp directly. The first option will give you less knots in your hair, the second option is quicker.
Is there a transition period switching to a shampoo bar?
No. If you're already using a natural bottle shampoo, then switching to a shampoo bar isn't any different from a performance perspective. Your hair is already settled into the routine of SLS free and silicone free shampoo and conditioner.
