Why is the Australian Natural Soap Company Castile soap a little dearer? (and why you won’t mind when you learn why)

There are four very good reasons for the slightly higher price point on the liquid castile soaps from the ANSC range. Once you know what they are, you can make an informed choice. Firstly, the castile soap is pure olive oil castile. It’s not diluted with other oils like coconut oil, hemp seed oil or palm oil. Secondly, the pumps are in a glass bottle and the refills are packed in tins, not plastic. Thirdly, for the options with scents, the essential oils used in these products are quality aromatherapy oils and not just something to ‘smell nice’, so those with more luxurious essential oils are a little dearer. You will appreciate the quality when it’s in your bathroom.

And last but certainly not least, they use less water than others on the market, so it’s thicker and you don’t need to use as much. It’s also more moisturising on the skin as a result and you may find you don’t need a body lotion as often. Comparing the price per litre with this as opposed to other brands isn’t a fair comparison.

Why do we love the Soap Flakes?

Available in 2 different sizes (250g and 1kg), these soap flakes are made from off cuts from all of the natural soaps in the range, so the scent will be a little different every time. From lavender to peppermint, lemon myrtle and a few other scents in between, these grey water safe off cuts are shredded and put in a box for you to use as a laundry powder substitute, to wash the dishes or to use on benches as a multi purpose cleaner by making a paste with equal parts hot water and soap flakes.
