Natural Moisturiser with SPF Sunscreen Protection for the face
It is important to understand there’s a difference between a natural moisturiser with SPF protection and a natural sunscreen for the face. SPF moisturisers are usually made by skin care specialists using their quality ingredients and adding a low level of zinc for SPF protection. They’re called a ‘secondary sunscreen’ and regulated in Australia by NICNAS, where sunscreen is regulated by the TGA.
The primary role of a natural SPF moisturiser is to moisturise your skin and offer some UV protection, most usually only offer SPF 15, but some go a little higher. If you’re only exposed periodically through the day, this is usually enough. For a day at the beach or being outdoors most of the day, please choose a natural sunscreen for the face with a higher SPF rating and wash it off properly at days end and nourish your skin accordingly with a good quality natural face serum to counter balance the drying effects of the zinc on your skin.
