The Oasis Stainless Steel Food Pod is a double wall vacuum insulated stainless steel food jar that can keep food hot or cold. The food pod has a rounded base and a wide opening so it feels like you're eating out of a bowl. It's easy to hold with one hand and eat with the other.
The lid features a pop up handle for carrying the food jar, but the handle isn't designed to be used to twist the lid open, so please ensure it's flat when removing the lid. Because of the 12cm diameter, small children will need assistance removing the lid. While the under side of the lid is stainless steel, there is a small piece of bpa free plastic which holds a silicone valve (you can see this valve on the photograph with the handle up). This silicone valve is a vital design feature because it allows the pressure to remain balanced inside the food pod. When hot food is stored in a food jar without a valve, sometimes the lids can be very difficult to remove. The vale ensures you can easily remove the lid every time.

GETTING THE BEST OUT OF THE INSULATION - for hot food, preheat the container with boiling water from the kettle for 5 minutes and ensure food is hot when you put it in. Your food pod will work best when it's full. You can expect to hold around half your temperature at the advertised insulation period if your food pod is preheated, full, adn the lid isn't removed during this time. For cold food, pre chill the food pod in the fridge (lid off) and ensure food is cold when it goes in to get maximum insulation.
