The traditional choice when choosing a shampoo is to choose a liquid shampoo. It’s what everyone is comfortable with, it’s easy to use and provides the most options in our store. While they are packaged in plastic, most plastic shampoo bottles and tubes can either be put in to your regular council recycling or sent to other recycling services. Just check the label and recycling code or check with your local council website as recycling schemes are not the same Australia wide.
We have options for normal hair, dry hair, frizzy hair, curly hair, colour treated hair, hair that needs volume, hair that needs taming, sensitive scalps and more. There’s a natural option to any hair type or issue available in our range.
What ingredients do we avoid in natural liquid shampoo?
- Sulphates - SLS, SLES and a few others, these are surfactants that make your shampoo froth up. They can be skin irritants and easily avoided with natural alternatives.
- Formaldehyde - while it can be naturally occurring in ripening fruit & in the air you breathe, it can cause eye, nose and throat irritation and it’s just not necessary to put it in shampoo.
- Artificial Fragrance - these can contain phthalates, so in our store, products are scented with essential oils instead.
- Parabens - we don’t allow these in our store anywhere. Parabens have estrogenic properties and are an unnecessary preservative.
- Triclosan - this endocrine disruptor normally used as a preservative. There are far safer alternatives and it’s not found in natural products.
