The mission of Avocado Zinc products

Avocado Zinc created a range to promote youthful skin, and the best way to do that is to protect your skin from sun damage. This is done with the help of two core ingredients. Non-nano zinc oxide, which is the active ingredient in every natural sunscreen in our store, provides a natural physical barrier to protect your skin from UVA & UVB rays. This is backed by testing from the TGA in Australia and displaying an AUST L number. Using zinc as the active ensures the sunscreen is reef friendly.

To create a nourishing sunscreen that will spread easily and provide nourishment to the skin to counterbalance the drying effects of zinc based sunscreen, each product in the Avocado Zinc range is formulated with another hero ingredient, Avocado Oil. This natural oil is packed with omega fatty acids and antioxidants to help minimise the visible signs of ageing and also assists in promoting collagen production. The rich avocado oil is also joined by coconut oil, vitamin E, calendula oil and castor oil to make it one of the most nourishing natural sunscreen products produced in Australia.

When Ellen, the founder of Avocado Zinc, first created her sunscreen range, it was due to pigmentation on her face and needing a sunscreen to wear under her makeup every day. To have sunscreen also perform as a primer is really important for people who are out and about. If it's too heavy, it affects how your makeup looks.

Avocado Zinc Tinted Sunscreen is the perfect BB cream replacement

We have talked about using Avocado Zinc sunscreen as a primer to wear under make up, but what if you can do it all in one? There's a tinted moisturiser in 3 shades that provides excellent coverage in sun protection and colour, much like you'd expect from a BB Cream. The SPF50 formula is available in a Light tint, a Light / Medium tint (the most popular shade) and a Medium / Dark tint. Apply with the fingers or the SPF brush for a dewy finish.

Avocado Zinc Natural Lip & Cheek Tint

Made on an SPF50 base, protect your lips from the sun with one of the 5 beautiful tints available in the Lip & Cheek tint. From nudes to reds and pinks, blend in or stand out with all the protection needed for the Australian sun or anywhere in the world you choose to travel.

Use this product with full coverage on your lips for full protection and also use it sparingly as a substitute for blush, lipstick, lip balm and eye shadow. Be aware that when applied lightly and blended, the sun protection will reduce. Ensure you have full coverage underneath if you're going out in the sun.

Is Avocado Zinc suitable for Sensitive Skin?

Yes, Avocado Zinc was formulated with sensitivities in mind. It can be used by the entire family, including babies, pregnant women and breastfeeding mums. We do advise you to patch test first. It is also preservative free and fragrance free for those with sensitive noses. Zinc is one of the main ingredients in calamine lotion which is specifically created for sensitive and itchy skin.
