Amazing Oils produce a range of magnesium oil, gel, flakes, lotions, sprays and baby care products with Australian sourced magnesium. They are the most innovative magnesium brand in Australia. Their magnesium is sourced from an incredibly pristine location and some of their products are listed as medicinal with the TGA. If you have a magnesium deficiency and oral supplements irritate your gut, have a talk to your doctor about the topical application of organically sourced magnesium oil as an alternative.
Can magnesium oil help with sleep?
Yes. We stock two products in the Amazing Oils magnesium range that are formulated specifically for sleep. They are a combination of magnesium and two popular essential oils for sleep, lavender and chamomile. Magnesium sleep bath flakes are pure magnesium chloride flakes infused with the lavender & chamomile essential oils. Use these magnesium flakes in the bath or in a foot soak to increase magnesium levels, reduce muscle cramps and also relax you at the end of a long day.
The Amazing Oils Magnesium Sleep Lotion is registered with the TGA (AUST L 318335). 2-3 pumps of the sleep lotion gives you around 100mg of elemental magnesium. For sleep, it's best applied behind the knees and on the top of your feet around 20 minutes before you go to bed in the evening. For mind relaxation during the day, apply it to your upper body, chest and arms.
Can magnesium help with pain relief?
According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the USA, clinical studies have found that keeping magnesium levels normal (which can be assisted with optimal absorption using a magnesium oil spray), there are benefits from magnesium including some relief from neuropathic pain, tension headaches, acute migraine attacks and more. In Australia, these claims are not backed officially by the TGA with these products.
What are the side effects of magnesium spray?
If you are deficient in magnesium, absorption of the magnesium oil into your skin is likely to cause some tingling, warmth or irritation on your skin. If this happens, dilute it with some light moisturiser for a few days. Always seek medical advice for any deficiencies, allergies or contra-indications with medication.
What's the best way to apply magnesium oil spray to the skin?
Simply spray it on your skin for best results. For the first week, spraying on damp skin or diluting with a moisturiser can be of some benefit with those who are deficient. Amazing oils use the highest quality magnesium in Australia so it does soak in well.
- For restless legs - apply to the back of the legs 20 minutes before bed
- For muscle and joint pain - apply directly to the area. Be proactive and continue to use it as a preventative measure
- For sleep - the tops of the feet, heels and the back of your legs before bed works. The soles of your feet offer poor absorption
- For general use - under the arms is a great option. If you have shaved recently it will sting. It's also a great alternative to natural deodorant. If you're ever out and you have this but no deodorant, you have your fix! As a general rules, above the waist in the morning and below the waist at night.
How long does it take for Amazing Oils magnesium spray to work?
According to our research, it takes anywhere between 10 minutes to 60 minutes for the magnesium to absorb transdermally (through the skin).
Do Amazing Oils also make skin care?
There are two products designed specifically for the face in the Amazing Oils range. Ugly Bits Stick is a concentrated magnesium chloride product to be used on skin tags, lumps and bumps. It's important that you get a skin check from a professional first. The product we really love is the Fix My Face Magnesium Moisturiser. It's 22% magnesium chloride in a base of natural ingredients based on shea butter and coconut oil. We have found it works great on problem areas on the body too and is a great unscented substitute for Weleda Skin Food. Our owner has used it as an armpit detox when a sensitivity broke out. It's a great problem solver.
