Leave-in products

What is natural hair care?
There isn't one universal legal definition that covers every hair product described as natural. Brands may use the term to refer to ingredients, formulation choices or their broader product philosophy. At Shop Naturally, product information and ingredient lists let you see what is in each formula and choose according to your preferences. Organic ingredients may appear in a formula without making the finished product certified organic; whole-product certification is a separate, product-specific distinction.
How do I choose the right shampoo and conditioner for my hair?
Begin with your hair and scalp type, then decide what you want from the products. Moisture, lighter conditioning, curl definition, volume, clarifying and colour care are useful starting points. Do I need to use shampoo and conditioner from the same range?
No. Products from the same collection are often formulated to complement one another, but mixing them can work well when your needs differ. You might prefer a shampoo for an oily scalp with a richer conditioner for dry ends, or pair an everyday shampoo with a conditioner intended for curls or colour-treated hair.
Are shampoo bars as effective as liquid shampoo?
They can be, but the format alone doesn't determine how a shampoo will perform for your hair. Solid and liquid shampoos both vary in their cleansing ingredients, richness and intended hair type. A bar suited to your hair and scalp preferences is more important than choosing solid or liquid on format alone. Technique can feel different at first, so use the bar according to its directions.
Do you have natural hair products without coconut-derived ingredients?
Coconut-free hair care can be difficult to find. Many shampoos, conditioners and other hair products use surfactants, emulsifiers or conditioning ingredients that may be derived from coconut, and this isn't always obvious from the ingredient name. We occasionally hear from customers who need to avoid coconut and its derivatives, but we are yet to find a shampoo and conditioner combination without coconut-derived ingredients that also meets the rest of our stocking criteria. If you need to avoid coconut because of an allergy, please check the current ingredient list carefully and contact the manufacturer if the source of an ingredient isn't clear.
Can I use natural and conventional hair products in the same routine?
Yes. Hair products don't need to belong to one category or philosophy to be used in the same routine. Focus on how the complete combination suits your hair, scalp and styling habits. If you're testing a new shampoo, conditioner or styling product, changing one item at a time can make it easier to understand how it fits with the products you already use.
