A plant-based alternative to sorbolene

Traditional chemist sorbolene commonly combines glycerin with occlusive ingredients such as mineral oil, liquid paraffin or petrolatum. These ingredients help reduce moisture loss and are not inherently harmful, but they do not suit every shopper's ingredient preferences.

Vegesorb takes a different approach. Its petroleum-free formula uses almond and apricot kernel oils alongside plant-derived glycerin. It also contains a preservative system to maintain the stability and microbiological safety of the cream as supplied. Vegesorb should not be described as preservative-free or assumed to be suitable for everyone simply because it is plant-based.

Lightweight everyday moisturising

Vegesorb is designed to moisturise without an excessively heavy or greasy finish. Apply it to intact skin after showering or whenever areas such as the hands, arms, legs, elbows, knees or feet feel dry. It works as a straightforward natural body moisturiser for customers who prefer a fragrance-free, plant-oil-based formula.

Vegesorb for sensitive skin

The manufacturer markets Vegesorb for normal and sensitive skin. Its fragrance-free and colour-free formula may appeal if you prefer to avoid added fragrance, but sensitivity is individual. Botanical oils and preservatives can still matter, and Vegesorb contains almond oil. Look over the ingredients if you have a known allergy or particular sensitivity, and seek professional advice if you are unsure. Apply Vegesorb only to intact skin rather than broken or infected areas.

One cream with several uses

As well as moisturising the body, hands and feet, Vegesorb can provide a creamy layer for shaving, remove makeup and work as a freshly prepared soap alternative. This versatility can be useful when travelling or when you would rather keep one multi-purpose cream in the bathroom. Using Vegesorb as a body wash

For a creamy soap alternative, place a small amount of Vegesorb in your palm, add approximately the same amount of water and mix them between your hands. Use the freshly prepared mixture immediately, then rinse it away. It will not foam like a conventional body wash, so a lack of bubbles is expected.

Only mix what you need for that wash. Do not prepare a batch in advance, add water to the original container or keep diluted Vegesorb in a bottle, jar or pump dispenser. Extra water changes the original formulation and can introduce microorganisms. The existing preservative system was developed for the cream as sold, not a stored 50/50 dilution. Discard any mixture left after use.

Using Vegesorb for shaving or makeup removal

For shaving, spread Vegesorb over intact, damp skin and leave a visible creamy layer rather than rubbing it in completely. Shave the area as usual, rinse, and apply a little undiluted Vegesorb afterwards if your skin is comfortable. It can be used on areas such as the legs, underarms or face, but it is not intended to treat razor cuts or irritation.

To remove makeup, gently massage a small amount over the skin to loosen it, then remove the cream with a damp cloth or rinse it away. Keep it out of the eyes. If you add water, mix only the amount required and use it immediately.

Choosing your Vegesorb size

All three sizes contain the same Vegesorb cream. The 100g size is convenient for a handbag, travel or trying the product for the first time. The 250g size suits regular personal use without taking up too much bathroom space. The Vegesorb 1kg size is the larger, economical format for families, frequent moisturising or customers who use the cream for several purposes.
