The right natural insect repellent depends on where you're going, which insects are present and how you prefer to apply the product. The registered label provides the most useful information, including the insects covered, protection period, minimum age and directions for use. Start with APVMA registration

Insect repellents making regulated claims in Australia fall under the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority. Every product Shop Naturally calls an insect repellent or mosquito repellent is APVMA registered. We don't describe an ordinary aromatic spray or essential-oil body product as a repellent simply because it contains ingredients commonly associated with outdoor use.

Registration relates to the finished product and its authorised label claims. It doesn't mean the APVMA has certified a product as natural, nor does it make every registered product interchangeable. The individual label remains the clearest source of information about what the product is registered to repel and how it should be used.

Choose for the insects and activity
