DESCRIPTION

  • Certified Organic
  • Cane Sugar Free
  • Gluten and Dairy Free
  • Low GI
  • Fair Trade

Coconut sugar has a rich toffee-like flavour, is organic, minimally processed and unfiltered. It holds the reputation for being the most sustainable sweetener in the world. Usable as a 1:1 replacement for brown sugar in recipes, it's also suitable for baking and replacing traditional sweeteners in tea and coffee.

Coconut Sugar is low on the Glycemic Index (GI) with a rating of 35, which makes it beneficial for weight control and improving glucose levels in people with diabetes. Low GI foods allow for a slow release of energy, efficiently fuelling day-to-day activities without the highs and lows associated with most commercial sugars.

Due to its rich mineral profile, Coconut Sugar has numerous health benefits (but like all concentrated foods, should be enjoyed in moderation).

* People with an intolerance for Fructose have found Coconut Sugar beneficial since it is primarily Sucrose based (up to 89% depending on the crop). However, it's important to note it isn't entirely Fructose free and can contain between 3 to 5%. Also, sucrose itself is a disaccharide made up of a combination of Glucose and Fructose so the exact amount of Fructose may vary accordingly.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Loving Earth is an Australian brand, producing a range of raw and organic food with a strong focus on ethics. Raw chocolate is a cornerstone of their business and their chocolate is made from cacao grown by the Ashaninka community in a remote forest in Peru where cacao originated. It is this dedication to sourcing and quality that sets them apart from others. Thought and care is taken with packaging as well, with the wrappers and boxes from their chocolate being home compostable.
