Deodorant Paste's are setting the world on fire at the moment, and later this month, we will be adding another new brand to the range, from Schmidt's. You may have seen it in magazines or from overseas websites. Schmidt's is a USA based company who make a deodorant paste in a jar as well as a stick version. This is the first natural stick deodorant in our store with the coconut oil / shea butter / arrowroot / baking soda based formula that has made the rest of the paste's so effective.
Some people are a little put off with the whole 'fingers in the jar and rubbing your pits' while using a natural deodorant, so this will be a welcome addition for them. We started our deodorant paste journey with the Black Chicken Deodorant, which has since been joined by Woohoo Body! which we snuck on without too much fanfare, but we'll be launching with a bang soon. The makers of Woohoo Body! (who are also the creators of the cult natural skin care brand Happy Skincare) are so confident that you'll love their deodorant that they're giving a money back guarantee on it. Details will be provided on that one soon.
Schmidt's Deodorant Sticks are available in 5 signature scents:-
- Lavender & Sage
- Bergamot & Lime
- Cedarwood & Juniper
- Ylang Ylang & Calendula
- Fragrance Free
(May 2019 update - since the original 5, there have been new additions to the sticks including a Charcoal & Magnesium stick and a sensitive range for those who need bi-carb free deodorant to reduce skin irritation)
From our experience, the scents boosted with essential oils do provide a little extra protection from any lingering odour that may try to pop up at the end of the day, but for those with sensitive noses, you'll be really happy there's an unscented version available.
There are also 5 natural deodorant pastes in the same 5 blends in the range and all will be available on our shelves by the end of January 2015. In the meantime, please browse through our natural deodorant category. We have the best collection in the county with an extensive list of customer reviews to help you make your choice. Remember the following when selecting a natural deodorant:-
- There are different formulas and applications and not all styles suit all people. You may want to try a couple of different options.
- They're not designed to stop you from sweating. They're designed to stop bacteria growth in your sweat.
- There can be an adjustment period of a couple of weeks when you switch from an antiperspirant. Don't give up straight away.
- If you are unwell or you're not eating well, your sweat will smell different (not just from your armpits) and this can be difficult to mask.
This blog post was originally published in January 2016 and has had some minor adjustments made in May 2019 due to the changes in product availability.
