Ere Perez vegan natural makeup is one of the first beauty brands we added to our store. Here at Shop Naturally, we have a strict policy about animal testing. We simply don't allow it in any of our products. Sadly, there are many mainstream cosmetics & beauty companies who do animal testing. It's mandatory when a company is exporting skin care or makeup to China, so there are a large number of major brands that may be vegan in their ingredients listings, but they're testing their products on animals.

According to the website Paula's Choice, the following very well known brands test their products on animals:-
Avon, Cetaphil, Chanel, Clearasil, Clinique, Cover Girl, Dove, Elizabeth Arden, L'Occiatine, L'Oreal Paris, MAC, Neutrogena, Nivea, Olay, Ponds, Revlon, Rimmel, Sephora just to name a handful. It's basically a stroll around Priceline, Myer or David Jones.

Other lists are slightly different. It pays to do current research if you're shopping for mainstream cosmetics. Since you're reading this article, I'm guessing that you don't. In that case, we've done the hard work for you. We just don't allow it. Period.

Many of our customers like to go one step further than no animal testing and for ethical choices, choose not only vegan food, but also use natural skin care and cosmetics that are vegan too. If that's the case, in our natural makeup department, Ere Perez vegan makeup has you covered.

As well as being vegan & cruelty free, the following nasties are not permitted in any Ere Perez makeup (or anywhere in our store.):-
Parabens, Phthalates, Propylene Glycol, DEA, Mineral Oil, Yellow #5, Petrolatum, Parrafin, Synthetic fragrances, PABA, Isopropyl Myristate, Nanoparticles, Lead or SLS

The origins of the Ere Perez vegan makeup range?

The brand Ere Perez started in Australia in 2002, with the values of being cruelty free, natural and suitable for sensitive skin and eyes. Ere is the nickname of founder Erendira and Perez is her married name. Originally from Mexico, Ere gets some of the range manufactured in her native country. Ere grew up with a grandfather who used traditional medicine and a mother with a flair for home remedies and beauty recipes, so she was brought up with the values that the company holds dear today.

Ere has a bachelor in nutrition and a certification in naturopathy, Bach flowers and acupuncture, yet it was beauty products that truly captivated her and because the foundation of the brand we know today as Ere Perez. Using a less-is-more philosophy, each product is packed with superfood ingredients with a focus on being healthy, effective, minimal and ethical. With over 20 years in the industry now, Ere Perez are pioneers in the natural beauty space in Australia.

The first product in the range when the business first started was that natural mascara that has a cult following, the Almond Oil mascara, which only came in black to start. It was created at a time where natural makeup wasn't mainstream by any means. It was a difficult task with little budget, but none the less, the product launched and is as popular now as it was over 20 years ago.

We are currently in the process of expanding our range of Ere Perez in store. We currently have the mascara, liquid foundations, jojoba eye pencils, almond eyebrow pencil, rosehip lip bars, rich olive oil lipsticks, sesame lip liner, cheek & lip tins and the arnica concealer. Stay tuned for more additions in coming weeks.
