The Camelbak Performance is a hybrid of the two best selling 'Podium' and 'Better' bottles. The bottle is a squeezable BPA-free water bottle made form custom-blended TruTaste™, which lets you taste your water, not your bottle.
The non-spill lid design is the same as that found on the traditional Camelbak hydration backpacks. Simply bite on the mouthpiece and suck - makes for easy drinking without having to tip the bottle up. The lid can be twisted shut to make the bottle water-tight during transit.
A handy gauge on the side of the bottle lets you know how much water is left in the bottle.
Size - 650ml
Colour - Fire Red
Material
BPA free custom-blended TruTaste™, which lets you taste your water, not your bottle. Also lined with HydroGuard™ to prevent bacteria build-up.
Tips for use
Twist the lid to the locked position for a complete water-tight bottle for transit. While in use, turn it to the on position and it's still spill proof. LIke the Podium bottle, the Performance bottle can also be used for sports drinks and will not retain taste, but washing out after each use is strongly recommended.
Dishwasher and freezer safe.
Why BPA free drink bottles?
Numerous reports can be found on TV, in health magazines & on the internet about the dangers of BPA (BIsphenol A) in plastic storage bottles & containers. These reports indicate very real negative affects on animals (and in particular mice) during testing.
Traces of BPA in food & water could lead to the disruption of the developmental process, affect intelligence, affect a childs behaviour, affect learning abilities and in teens & adults, affect the reproductive system and fertility.
Whether this is all true or just a 'media beat up', is it really worth drinking out of plastic bottles that could be leaching BPA in to your water and each out of plastic containers that could be leaching BPA in to your food?

Personally Recommended
If you're a Camelbak user this bottle comes with the bite valve you're used to. The handle can be used to hook on a carabiner or just for hooking a finger through. This bottle is ideally suited to 'blokes' and is not necessarily one for the kids or delicate ladies as there is a 'bite & suck action' required to drink from this bottle. Water flow is ample, but it requires the use of some jaw muscles for the drinking action.
If you think the mouthpiece will cause you an issue, check out the Podium bottle.
